Allan A. Macdonald...
Allan A. Macdonald was called to the bar in 1995 and has practised at MacLeod & Company since 1998. He holds law degrees from Queen's University and Osgoode Hall and attended the University of Wisconsin Law School.
Mr. Macdonald practices in the areas of commercial and insurance litigation, freedom of information and privacy law, and municipal law. His commercial law practice focuses on contractual disputes, shareholder agreements, and directors' duties to company members. He has represented numerous clients across Canada on issues arising from tobacco tax regulation. He acted as Associate Editor of the Municipal & Planning Law Reports and has acted for numerous clients in cases against municipalities in both the B.C. Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.

Since 1995, Mr. Macdonald has been an active member of the freedom of information and privacy bar. He was the founding Chair of the Canadian Bar Association (B.C. Branch) Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Section and is the current Treasurer and Member of the Board of Directors of the Freedom of Information of Privacy Association since 1995. He advises clients on all matters pertaining to freedom of information and privacy regulation in Canada and is currently advising on privacy litigation commenced in the United States Federal Court in San Francisco, California.
